I would like to start off by saying that superman is immortal.
He can't be blown up. He is bullet proof and he can fly
in space without oxygen and even defy gravity by flying.
So it is safe to say that he is nothing like a human. This
is why he can survive his fantastic sweeping moves to save
Lois without hurting himself. However, according to the
laws of physics, he can't do it. Why? Well, let's look gravity.
Objects fall at 9.8m/s/s meaning that if Lois was pushed
off a 300m building, she would reach the ground in around
4 seconds. In which it would take her about 2 seconds to
scream "Help Superman". Let's just say he is 20Okm away.
He can still hear her scream, which is pretty weird. But
let's imagine that he doesn't have supernatural hearing.
Sound travels at 331.29m/s so in the two seconds of her
yelling. her voice would have only gone 1/165th of the way.
The normal voice tone is 60dB, and that can be heard for
around 20 meters. Imagine how load she would have to scream
for him to hear her at 20Okms. The body can't scream more
than 110dB (as 120dB is as loud as a jet engine). even if
it could, she would deafen herself calling for him to be
able to hear her. So considering that sound traveled at
the speed of light, he would have 1.5 seconds left to fly
at 13333km/h to save her at the bottom of the building.
Now when he gets to the bottom of the building where she
now is he is still traveling at 13333km/h. As he sweeps
up from the ground at Lois, he connects with her. The human
body is a fragile thing. We black out at 7G, but the body
can't take more than 17G or else we die. So, as Superman
races at her, the force that he would hit her at would probably
shatter all her bones and kill her at the sudden jolt in
sudden direction. This makes a superman rescue quite impossible.
Sorry Superman. You'll have to try another way.
